What makes us different?

If you are here after experiencing trauma from sexual betrayalmany treatment centers and programs are missing a significant part of the TWO part problem. Three of our therapists and one of our coaches utilize Dr. Omar Minwalla's Model in our work with clients to ensure that treatment or support involves addressing BOTH the Deceptive Compartmentalized Sexual Behavior AND the Integrity Abuse behavior. If those terms are unfamiliar, that's okay!

Essentially we understand that there are two problems:

1. The secret sexual behaviors

2. All other behaviors that have been employed to protect the secret

Whether you choose to work with us, or someone else we have a list of questions provided directly by Dr. Omar Minwalla  that any professional treating infidelity or other deceptive sexual behaviors should have the answers for. These are his questions, shared with his permission for the benefit of anyone seeking healing:

What Clients Are Entitled to Ask

Any professional or organization offering treatment for sex addiction

should be able to answer, clearly and publicly:
1. What is your organizational history in treating the partners of sex addicts?
2. When did you begin treating partners as patients in their own right?
3. What treatment models have you used over time for partners of sex addicts?
4. When exactly did those models change, what specifically changed, and why?
5. What do you currently assess, diagnose, and treat in partners of sex addicts?
6. Who provides that treatment—and with what licensure, supervision, and training?

7. Do you assess sex addicts for integrity-abuse?
8. Do you diagnose integrity-abuse when it is present?
9. Do you treat the partner of a sex addict as a victim of psychological abuse?
10. Is this diagnosis documented in treatment plans?
11. If you do not treat integrity-abuse, do you clearly disclose that to patients?
12. If you do, what is your treatment model, and what is it called?

13. What is your organizational history in treating partners of sex addicts?
14. What exact treatment model do you offer today?
15. Whose clinical work and intellectual labor developed that model?

Frequently Asked Questions

We know finding the right support can be overwhelming. Here's a few of our most FAQs but if you don't see your question, we're just an email away!

1. WHAT IS THE COST PER SESSION AND DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE? The cost per 50-minute session ranges between $125 - $200 depending on which therapist you are working with. We also have Student Interns who are able to see clients at a much lower rate. We accept cash, check, all major credit cards, HSA, and FSA cards. We generally have chosen not to accept insurance directly. However, we can provide a “super-bill” statement for you to submit to your insurance company in effort to receive out-of-network provider reimbursement (typically 60-80% of the session cost, depending on your plan). We are also partnered with a billing concierge service who can do all the work for you. Many of our clients utilize this benefit to access affordable therapy. One of our therapists, Rachel Hartshorn does also accept some insurances.

2. WHERE CAN I CHECK MY OUT OF NETWORK BENEFITS? Reach out and we are happy to check them for you! If you'd like to check yourself you're welcome to create an account at Thrizer.com.

3. HOW DO VIRTUAL SESSIONS WORK? We value client accessibility and convenience, so our virtual video counseling sessions are conducted through SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant teletherapy app similar to FaceTime or Zoom. It is easily downloadable to your phone, tablet, or computer.

4. WHAT ARE YOUR OFFICE HOURS AND WHAT'S YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY? We are open Monday through Friday and each therapist offers a different schedule with both morning and afternoon times available. You can view each therapists schedule through their online booking portal. We require 24 business hours notice for cancellations in order to avoid the late cancellation/no-show fee.
